UI / UX Design Internship at Credit Suisse

From October 2022 to March 2023, I've had the pleasure to intern at Credit Suisse as a UI/UX Designer, in the main UX design team of the Swiss Bank. I've learned what it's like to work at a large company with a variety of stakeholders, including users, product owners, product managers, engineers, and, of course, other designers.

One the most important skills acquired is to defend the voice of the user and to be confident about my design proposals as a professional designer, in light of questions and criticisms of my seniors, who do not have the design expertise that I do.

At the same time, with the help of my fellow designers, it is important to stay very critical - and rather impersonal - towards one's own work. The mindset being, during crit sessions, that we're all working together for what's best for the user. Taking and giving constructive criticism is another key skill I have acquired during my internship.

My tasks at Credit Suisse included:

  • The design and prototyping of many desktop and mobile flows, at different breakpoints, in Figma.

  • The maintenance of the design system (DesignOps), including the creation of components and variants following the atomic design method (particles, molecules, templates, etc...)

  • Creation of personas from qualitative and quantitative user data, from surveys of over 900 participants.

  • Design of the internal change management system, facilitation the submission of tickets to change various things about the team design system

  • The ideation and design of innovative ways to engage clients (gamification, data bites, stories, etc...) in mobile application form

Because most of the work I have done for the bank is restricted and not in production, I am unfortunately not able to share the vast majority of my Credit Suisse work with future employers. That being said, the API Marketplace page below is a now public page I have worked on during my time at Credit Suisse.
